Currently, the Government of Japan has issued a state of emergency in areas such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Restaurants do not serve alcohol and are closed at 8 pm. Karaoke shops are also closed. Events can be held, but must be held at 50% or less of capacity. The government is calling on citizens to refrain from going out unnecessarily.

However, many people go to work as usual, and business activities can be carried out without any problems while considering masks and social distancing. The IOC and Tokyo have announced that the Olympic Games would be held in July, and would welcome about 100,000 athletes and officials from overseas.

According to a recent survey, 70% of citizens are calling for the cancellation of the Olympic Games this summer. I also think that the risk is huge because vaccination is very late in Japan.

Despite this situation, there is no particular problem when it comes to cinematography-related work. Local videographers, sound mixers and photographers are available in locations and studios. There are no restrictions on moving around by public transportation.
